The purpose of this paper is to analyze Korean minorities homecoming and living conditions of Japan in the early postwar era. There are currently more than half million Korean residents in Japan since postwar. Most of the Korean residents in Japan who were born and educated there use Japanese as their main language and duties are applied the same way as to the Japanese. But there is social discrimination of political rights and job employments due to their Korean nationality. Therefore this paper examines the following: first, the problems of the Korean minority homecomers treatment policy in the early postwar era by the Japanese government. Second, the living conditions, unequal education policies of the early postwar era of Korean minorities in Japan by the Japanese government. Finally, this paper tries to prove why so many Korean minorities in Japan are still living without nationality or separated their nationality south or north Korea and arch rival since 1945. Moreover, unequal education policies that have possibly lead 2nd and 3rd generations of Korean minorities to hardly speak Korean and become naturalized as Japanese citizens.
